Introduction to Drawing Materials | | Drawing Materials

 

1.    Drawing sheet: A drawing sheet is a flat piece of paper or other material used for drawing or drafting. Drawing sheets come in various sizes and thicknesses, and they can be used with a variety of drawing materials, such as pencils, pens, markers, charcoal, and pastels. The different types of drawing sheets with their size are:

2.   Drawing Pins:  Drawing pins, also known as push pins or thumbtacks, are small metal or plastic pins used to secure paper or other materials to a surface, such as a bulletin board or wall. They typically have a thin, sharp point that can be easily pushed through the paper or material being displayed and then inserted into the surface to hold it in place.

3.    Masking Tape: In drawing, masking tape is a type of tape that is used to protect certain areas of a drawing from being smudged or marked while working on other areas. It is typically a low-tack adhesive tape that can be easily removed without damaging the surface of the drawing paper.

4.    Base Paper: In drawing, base paper refers to the primary paper surface upon which the artwork or image is created. It is the foundation upon which the artist applies their medium, whether it be graphite, charcoal, ink, pastel, or paint.

5.    Drawing Board:  A drawing board is a flat surface on which a person can draw or draft. It is typically made of wood, plastic, or other materials and can come in a variety of sizes and features. Drawing boards are commonly used by artists, architects, engineers, and designers to create technical drawings, illustrations, and sketches.

6.     T-Square/T-Scale: A T-square (sometimes also called a T-scale) is a technical drawing tool used by drafters and architects to draw straight lines on a drafting board. It typically consists of a straight edge, called the blade, that is attached to a perpendicular crosspiece, called the stock. The stock is designed to be held against the edge of the drafting board, while the blade can be moved up and down to draw lines at different angles.

7.    Set- Squares: Set Squares consists of two types of triangles 450 and -450 and 300 and -600.Set Squares are used to draw vertical lines and inclined lines. With 45and -450  triangles we can draw lines inclined at 450 , 900, 1350,
